Biography
Dr. Thakkar is originally from India and received her medical training from M. S University of Baroda Medical College. She then completed a residency in Internal Medicine from the Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California in 2010 where she was given an opportunity to serve as a chief resident. She served as an attending physician at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California for 6 years. Prior to Joining UTSW, she worked in the private sector for 1 year. She brings to UTSW a strong background of primary care and chronic disease management. Her interests are women’s health, diabetes and preventive medicine. Dr. Thakkar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Thakkar’s interests outside of Medicine is cooking, painting and spending time with family/friends.
